New WCAPS Podcast Series: “After the Service: Stories of Those Who Served”
WCAPS has launched a new podcast series, "After the Service: Stories of Those Who Served." The podcast focuses on the work the U.S. government has done here and abroad, and how that work benefits Americans beyond what they can feel in their wallets. Interviewees can include people who worked in the U.S. and those who worked abroad. The overall purpose is to educate Americans who have little or no awareness of how the U.S. government affects them and promotes peace and security around the world. With so little understanding by many, and even in some cases, any care, it has been easier to get rid of U.S. agencies (USAID), gut programs, and fire staff from U.S. Departments (State, CDC, Treasury, Interior, USDA, and others). The effects are far-reaching, not just in jobs lost in the U.S. and abroad, but for those who suffer from what the U.S. abruptly stopped funding. To be more transparent about how the government affects everyday Americans, we launched the new podcast.
If you are a:
1. Former government employee or
2. Someone who worked for the U.S., for example, in an NGO that helped provide U.S. assistance or in another related capacity, or
3. Someone who received U.S. assistance, for example, through a USAID program,
We welcome you as part of this podcast series. Please note that I am happy to shape the discussion in ways that you feel comfortable sharing about your public service.
