SWANA: The 2020 Presidential Election & the Arab American Vote

On Wedensday, December 2, 2020 at 11:00 AM EST, Maya Berry, the Executive Director of the Arab American Institute is joining us for a presentation on the 2020 Presidential election and the Arab American vote!

The Arab American vote was critical in key battleground states like Michigan, Pennsylvania, Ohio, Wisconsin and more. For example, in Michigan, the number of those claiming Arabic-speaking ancestry has grown by more than 42% between 2000 and 2016; and more than 200,000 Arab Americans live in Wayne County, largely contributing to the results of this election.

The Arab American Institute is a national civil rights advocacy organization that provides strategic analysis to policy makers and community members to strengthen democracy, protect civil rights and liberties, and defend international human rights. AAI organizes the 3.7 million Arab Americans across the country to ensure an informed, organized, and effective constituency is represented in all aspects of civil life.

We are so honored to have Maya with us and look forward to seeing all of you soon!
