Ashley Marte

Ashley holds a Bachelor’s in Political Science from the University at Albany. Currently, she is a Coordinator with the Southwest Organizing Project where she is for implementing SWOP’s organizing vision of building people power rooted in engaging community residents to lead to systems change with a specific focus on health and racial equity.

She has been an active leader in her community at a young age and has worked with organizations such as The Legal Project, RAICES, the New York State Supreme Court, amongst others to provide language translations to asylum seekers and refugees in the states and Latin America. Previously, she has spoken at National Public Health Week, the 2021 Summer Symposium: Addressing Differential Impacts of COVID-19 in New York State, the LACS Symposium and worked with the Logistics team at UC Berkeley’s Empowering Women of Color Conference.
