Program Associate - Full Time, Washington, DC

Position Summary: WCAPS is seeking a qualified candidate to serve as a Program Associate to support the management and development of the Organizations in Solidarity (OiS) program as well as to provide support to other WCAPS programs as needed. This position will collaborate with the OiS Program Manager to facilitate the day-to-day business of the OiS program, including communications, data management, and meetings.

Job Responsibilities:

OrgsinSolidarity (90%)

Subject to change with the development of OrgsinSolidarity project

  • Collaborate with the OiS Program Manager to facilitate the day-to-day business of the OiS program

  • Assist with planning and execution of OiS meetings, including the annual OiS Conference and Career days, and take notes in required meetings

  • Help develop, implement, and support OrgsinSolidarity working groups and working group projects

  • Serve as a point of contact for OiS external stakeholders

  • Maintain integration of attendance data sets from OiS working groups and other sources into one consolidated Excel database to streamline reporting operations.

  • Draft and implement relevant operating procedures

  • Assist with writing public statements on behalf of OiS

  • Explore alternative procedures/approaches to help improve program effectiveness and/or improve administration.

WCAPS Programs (10%)

  • Provide support for other WCAPS programs on an as-needed basis.


Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree and at least one year of relevant experience in the peace, security, and foreign policy field, or equivalent experience at a minimum of three years in the field.

  • Support and uphold WCAPS vision, mission and goals

  • Working knowledge of race, racism, white supremacy and basic Diversity Equity and Inclusion principles

  • Excellent skills with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Gmail etc. and an interest in learning new systems

  • Ability to pay attention to detail

  • Good communication skills

  • Ability to problem solve

  • Ability to manage time effectively and maintain organization

  • Good interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively as part of a team, with respect for and sensitivity to differing multicultural backgrounds (culturally competent)

  • Ability to successfully manage multiple assignments independently

  • Ability to work in a small, team-oriented environment and experience with collaborative efforts

Job Details:

  • Remote Work based in the DMV area

  • Must be based in the US, and a US Citizen or authorized to work in the US.

  • Full-time

  • Starting Salary $45,000 depending on experience, Full-time

  • Healthcare benefits package including medical, dental, and vision
