WCAPS CALIFORNIA CHAPTER

We seek to amplify the voices of Black, Indigenous and women of color (BIWOC) in the fields of international peace, security, and conflict transformation through an inclusive, and equitable, holistic approach to tackling today’s challenges.

Our Mission

We work to expand the aims of the WCAPS family, composed of womxn of color, allies, and advocates, as we implement our West Coast style in tech, innovation, and sustainability.

Our Goals

  • Establish a pool/pipeline of highly qualified experts across fields/industries

  • Expand WCAPS network to collaborate with West Coast partners

  • Put more BIWOC in C- Suite/leadership positions

  • Create programming for professional development and current events

  • Help our members develop and hone their soft and hard skills

  • Incorporate true inclusivity, diversity and equity in all that we do

What We Do

At WCAPS, we believe interconnected global issues demand a variety of perspectives. On the West Coast we focus on

  • Emerging technology and trends

  • Climate change/sustainability

  • Disarmament

Rather than focus our resources on one particular age or career stage, we bring together members of varying experience levels via

  • Networking opportunities

  • Mentorship programs

  • Hiring pipelines

  • Liaison services

  • Recruiting Partnerships
